Welcome to Britannia House.

Britannia House is a small, informal, family-run bed and breakfast in the centre of Teignmouth. It is a short stroll from the town’s famously clean, sandy beach, fun-filled pier and comprehensive town facilities and is only a few minutes’ drive from the spectacular walks and trails of Dartmoor.

The house is over 300 years old, grade II listed and situated in the conservation area of the old town. It has recently undergone extensive refurbishment, revealing many fascinating historical features such as ancient beams, original stonework and distempered walls. Whilst maintaining the house’s character, the accommodation is now fully modernised and provides the highest degree of comfort.

There are three bedrooms each with superior en-suite facilities. Guests have the use of a cosy sitting room with books, magazines and music available and a window-seat overlooking the narrow street below. Each bedroom has television, hairdryer, radio-alarm clock and has facilities to make coffee or a pot of piping hot tea.

Breakfast is served daily in the sunny dining room and includes organically-reared, locally-cured bacon, hand-made sausages, local free-range eggs, freshly baked bread and a wide array of fruit, yogurt, cereal and toast.

During the summer, guests may also use the BBQ facilities in the walled garden should they decide not to avail themselves of Teignmouth’s range of restaurants.
